RORAIMA
Climbing up to the table mountains! The Roraima massif, locally known as "the fertile mother of streams". From this rocky landscape originate the brooks which later flow into large rivers like Rio Orinoco, Amazonas or Esequibo which crosses Guayana.
It's picturesque massif is due to millions of years of erosion. You can behold this landscape during our tour!
Itinerary:
1st Day:
Transfer to San Franciso de Yuruanu in the Gran Sabana, afterwards by jeep to the indian settlement of "Perei-Tepuy" (1 hour).
4-5 hour walking tour across the Sabana including fording brooks to reach the Río Tek camp.
Overnight in tents. (-/L/D).
2nd Day:
Hike throu sabanas and jungle to the base camp at the bottom of the table mountain. Overnight in tents. (B/L/D)
3rd Day:
Hiking to the top of the plateau (3.5 hours), looking for strange and exotic plants and rocks, as well as seeing unusual geological formations.
Overnight in tents below a rocky projection. We called it 'El hotel'. (B/L/D)
4th Day:
In the morning we are hiking at the top to the 'Punto Triple', the meeting point of the three countries Venezuela, Brazil and Guayana.
Visiting the labyrinth and different small bozos with water where you can have a great cold swim if you like. After we are walking to the abismo from where you have a panoramic view from the top of Roraima down to the Gran Sabana.
Back to the camp and overnight in tents below a rocky projection. (B/L/D)
5th Day:
After breakfast, descent and hike back to camp "Rio Tek".
Overnight in tent close to the river. (B/L/D)
6th Day:
Walking back to "Perai-Tepuy" and drive back to San Franciso de Yuruanu and Santa Elena.
End of tour. (B/L/-)

What you should take with you?
SLEEPING-BAG!!! Good walking shoes, sun hat, sun screen, short and long trousers, two shirts, insect repellent, raincoat, flashlight, swimming stuff, sandals, towels and one pullover!
