In the framework of a public-private partnership, Norpac has converted the Arenberg colliery site, part of the world heritage list, into a major scientific and cultural facility dedicated to audiovisual technologies. The project included the refurbishment of the buildings and the construction of a 300-seat auditorium as well as offices for University of Valenciennes laboratory research teams, computer rooms, testing rooms and even a TV studio. Built in a breaking record time of 17 months, the project mobilized 100 workers and 70 companies, 40% of which are rooted in the Nord region. The overall of the site is operated by for 25 years.
