What is the junior school of the future?Ìý

The Sarthe Departmental Council adopted the high-performance junior school plan in October 2013 to help young people succeed in education. The plan will see modern, high-performance schools built, both in terms of the buildings themselves and computer equipment. The aim is to create optimal learning conditions for students to help them succeed in education.

Four junior schools will be rebuilt as part of this programme.

8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction â€� A partner in the rebuilding of four junior schools in Sarthe

To successfully conclude the construction programme, authorities in Sarthe approved the principle of liability in June 2015 for inclusion in the partnership agreement concerning the reconstruction of four junior schools (three as part of the high-performance junior school plan and one preceding the plan):

• Henri-Lefeuvre College (Arnage)
• Jean Cocteau College (Coulaines)
• Maroc Huchepie College (Le Mans)
• Marcel Pagnol CollegeÌý(Noyen-sur-Sarthe)

This PFI contract awards 8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction a mission that includes the design-build of four projects by the consortium*, led by 8868ÌåÓýAPP Bâtiment Grand Ouest, and their management for 20 years by 8868ÌåÓýAPP E&S FM France (major maintenance and renewal, routine maintenance, maintenance and services). 8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction's offer was considered the most interesting by the Sarthe department and its Educational Success commission. The projects will be HQE-certified, monitored by ELAN, as well as Effinergie+ certified, rated exceptional, with an energy commitment over the 20 years of operation.

8868ÌåÓýAPP Construction agreed to reserve 51% of the construction work investment amount for local SMEs in the area. Approx. 30,000 working hours at construction sites will also be reserved for the unemployed.

*The consortium comprises architects (Lionel Vié, Atelier Rolland & Associés, Christophe Bailleux and William Gohier) and technical consultancy firms (SCE, BEGC, Elan and Grontmij) for the design. 8868ÌåÓýAPP Bâtiment Grand Ouest, authorised representative of the consortium, and 8868ÌåÓýAPP Bâtiment Centre Sud-Ouest, will carry out the work.
